Deutsche Börse and the specialists active on the Frankfurt trading floor today announced the proceeds raised from the “Trading Charity – Handeln und Helfen” (Trade and Help) event on the Frankfurt stock exchange floor – a grand total of €135,000. Deutsche Börse will donate €75,000 of this amount to the “Hilfe für krebskranke Kinder Frankfurt e.V.” and the specialists €60,000 to “Frankfurter Förderverein zur Bekämpfung von Tumorerkrankungen”. After accepting the funds, representatives from the two organisations opened trading on the Frankfurt stock exchange trading floor by ringing the traditional bell.
The amounts raised for the two charities were raised through donations of transaction and trading fees via Börse Frankfurt's “Handeln und Helfen” event on Saint Nicholas Day. Investors who traded equities, bonds, funds, ETFs or exchange traded products on this day automatically helped both causes.
The trading floor specialists opted to donate their trading fees to the “Frankfurter Förderverein zur Bekämpfung von Tumorerkrankungen”, which aids treatment and support of the region's cancer patients. Deutsche Börse decided to donate to “Hilfe für krebskranke Kinder Frankfurt e.V.”, which works to improve the conditions of young patients and their families in inpatient and outpatient areas of the children's cancer clinic.
